We will not cancel any policies based on verbal request alone. We need something written in order to process a cancellation. It can be a cancellation form that is wet signed and scanned, or e-signed (if you don’t know how to do this through EZLynx yet, please check out https://www.ezlynx.com/support/training-materials/esignature/
It can also be submitted as an email, but that email must include the policy number and requested effective date. The email MUST BE pasted into EZLynx or uploaded as a PDF into EZLynx. Regardless of method, we need that record on file in the EZLynx system.
NOTE: I wouldn’t recommend using the e-signature process through Erie for cancellations (it’s fine for policy changes), as the person can simply ignore the requests to sign until it times out and we’re left swinging in the wind with no proof and no enticement to encourage them to follow through.
